A house's door is an important feature. It is the only recognized entry and exit point for any building or house. It is important that a door is sturdy and long-lasting enough to keep out intruders from ruining one's home or property.

Steel is a durable and strong metal. If the homeowner wants more safety and security, a steel door and frame can be added to any house. These are the helpful hints for installing a steel frame and door.

1. All the necessary materials should be collected and prepared.

These are the required materials: Kit for steel frame, door

– 1 and 1/2 inches screws

– Two inches screws

– Screwdriver

– Wallboard and wallboard tape

– Shims

– Plaster skim coating

These are the tools you will need to do the installation

– Pry bar

– A drill that is a bit more set

Coping saw

– Eight pieces

Hammer

2.  Remove the frame, door, and molding.

Remove the molding from the door. The pry bar can be used to insert the pry bar between the moldings and the wall. Pull the molding off the wall gently at the top. Continue this process at the bottom and in the middle. Continue doing this until you are satisfied with the results.

3. Do the wall framing.

Make sure the wall supporting the door is structural. Use a pair of 2×4 inch stock to attach to the wall. Remove the studs from each side of your new steel door frame. Replace the studs with metal ones. Screw the studs directly to the sill. Use the screws. Then, apply the screws to the header wall frame. Block the areas where the door system needs support.

4. Install the new steel door.

A helper is needed for this step. Begin by guiding a companion to attach the bottom of the door to the opening. Adjust the tilt of the door until it is in its proper place. Adjust the door to fit the space by leveling it with the shims. Interior supports may be included in the kit to ensure that the door package is square. To measure the height, measure from the floor intact to the top of the sill. Do not measure from a carpet if it is present.
