Types of Self-Erecting Tower Cranes

A crane allows for rapid transportation of machinery and heavy equipment in and out of difficult places or areas where a truck would be conspicuous. By using this type of crane, construction companies can continue to operate their businesses as normal while transporting heavy equipment.

There are many types of tower crane service, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Here is a brief overview of the different types of tower cranes:

  • Gantry crane: This type of crane is the most common and typically uses a series of arms or girders to move goods between the ground and the top of the tower. They are typically less expensive than other types of tower cranes, but they can also be more difficult to operate.

  • Tower crane: This type of crane is taller than a gantry crane and has more powerful motors. They are often used for larger projects, such as building skyscrapers.

  • Self-erecting tower crane: This type of crane is unique because it can erect itself using hydraulic jacks. This makes it easier to move heavy loads, since the crane doesn't have to carry any weights on its own. However, self-erecting towers are typically more expensive than other types of tower cranes.

Mobile cranes can also provide essential material for repairs or maintenance work on a particular piece of machinery in order to keep it operational and operating as soon as possible.
