The art of writing an effective song isn't easy at times. The stress of your chords, melody, structure of the song, and even lyrics can make it difficult for beginners. It is most likely the most significant. It was when I was listening to a tune on the radio and it was the first song on the countdown that the station was playing. Find a home note
The home note refers to the note your melody is built around. For instance, when my melody starts with a C, I will have as the final note in my tune that note, or similar. The listener doesn't like big intervals and jumps in the majority of cases and I don't blame them.
Be original
Do not copy someone else's ideas. Take their advice and create your own ideas. The most successful songs usually come from people who aren't shy to think outside the box. Try different methods and discover which ones work and which do not. It's all about trial and error. But most of all, let your ear be the final judge.
Keep your notes close to one another
This is crucial when learning the art of writing a successful song. Keeping your notes in close proximity allows your melody to be more cohesive, for lack of an adequate word. It is the notes being close that make an aural experience memorable.
